One of my favorite preschool songs is "Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree." I learned it years ago in church and still use it every spring with my toddlers.
Here are the lyrics written by Georgia Bello:
I looked out the window and what did I see?
Popcorn popping on the apricot tree.
Spring has brought me such a nice surprise,
Popcorn popping right before my eyes.
I could take an armful and make a treat.
A popcorn ball that would smell so sweet.
It wasn't really so,
but it seemed to me,
Popcorn popping on the apricot tree.
We follow up with a really fun craft. I simply cut out a tree trunk shape. And, then the top of the tree. We use a little glue and some popped popcorn to put it together.
