Another fun twist on self-portraits

During circle time I passed around a hand mirror. Each child took a turn looking at him/herself. We talked about our faces. We talked about our similarities (we all have a nose, a mouth, and two eyes) etc. And, what makes us unique i.e. "Trey has very blue eyes, Eleri has a small mole on her neck, Emmie has rosy cheeks..."

For art, I used colored paper to cut out a hand mirror shape. I gave the children markers to draw what they remembered about themselves.

The best preschool self portraits!

Preschoolers love making self portraits. This idea is very strait forward. You will need some butcher paper and some crayons or markers.

Trace the child laying down and then have the child fill in the art work.

So easy and fun!
